Mayor attempting to avoid 'Nazi' insult court case

In February of this year Mr Livingstone compared a reporter to a "concentration camp guard". An independent panel will decide his fate as his legal representation try to get him off on a technicality. They claim the case should be dropped because the complaint was not specific enough and did not highlight the precise area where the Mayor's office code of conduct was breached.

If found guilty of failing to respect others or bringing his office into disrepute, the Mayor could be told to apologise, banned from his post, suspended, censured or told to go for training.

Any normal, socially aware person would have simply apologised for such an insult but, Ken being Ken, he has let it get to the point where tax payers' money is being wasted. His arrogance not to apologise is one thing but it's another thing entirely when such an obviously hurtful remark means public money is being spent in this way. God help us if he is allowed to walk away from this without any form of punishment.

I am, however, looking forward to the prospect of Ken having to publicly apologise or, better still, being banned from office. Now that would be money well spent.
