The Routemaster revival gathers pace

In an attempt to bypass drink-driving laws, a London Routemaster bus has been bought and renovated for the purpose of taking locals home from a country pub. Ian Fletcher, landlord of The Little Mill Inn (Mellor, near Stockport), has paid £9,400 for the distinctive taxi, citing the reason that people "don't want to drive out into the country for a drink".

Certainly a novel and entertaining way of drumming up business. In consultation with Ken Livingstone, Mr Mellor has announced the first of three fare increases....

If anyone has interesting stories regarding the life of the Routemaster after it's London demise please contact us.
