Further proof the congestion charge is failing
The speed of traffic on London's roads in the congestion charge zone has slowed significantly compared to a year ago. A study by the RAC and the Evening Standard has shown that the average speed on 6 major routes has fallen to 8mph.
The report highlighted that delays were worsened by increased numbers of bendy buses (another great idea of Ken's), cycle lanes, bus priority traffic measures and traffic light reprogramming. The overall findings point to the fact that the congestion charge is simply not working.
Other outcomes of the report include:
The results are alarming and indicate increased congestion.
Some routes are the same as before the c-charge despite an increase in cost, motorists are moving slower.
Surveys from the past 3 years support the findings.
Traffic in West London is currently flowing normally, far better than the c-charge zone.
Businesses are suffering because of the congestion charge.
As a result, the extension of the congestion charge to West London is seen as completely outrageous, unnecessary and "entirely political". This incredibly short-sighted solution is wrong for business, residents and is widely viewed as a misuse of public money.
Regardless of this, other studies and public opinion, Ken Livingstone will push ahead and introduce the extension of the congestion to West London. This man's personal opinions and vendettas make life almost unbearable for thousands of Londoners (some businesses are considering leaving the capital, the first being a large BMW dealership later this year). Ken doesn't like cars so he abuses his position to do what he wants, regardless of public opinion or independently produced reports. The Mayor's arrogance and complete disregard for fact, or the feelings of the London public, is staggering.

"Further proof the congestion charge is failing" so where is the proof?
But then again people, Groups such as The RAC and The Media can twist the facts around to suit what they others such as members, and the readers to read.

You can't argue with the fact that traffic is actually slower than it was before the congestion charge in some places. Surely this is proof that, as opposed to cutting congestion, the c-charge has made it worse in places and thus has failed.
In addition, the Mayor seems happy to ignore respected, independent research as well as the people who actually live in London. It's pretty overwhelmingly obvious that people in West London are opposed to the c-charge extension.

Expeditious public execution of Ken Livingstone is advised.
