Red Ken is watching you - and creating eyesores in the process

As the congestion charge extends to west London, Ken Livingstone has unleashed his new and improved enforcement cameras. And what hideous contraptions they are. With the possibility of up to six cameras, perched atop an overbearing black 18ft pole, many critics have panned the devices as gruesome eyesores. Here's an example of what Londoners to the west can expect to be greeted with (image courtesy of into):

Residents are being advised to check their local council web site and to contact the Mayor's transport department if they would like to lodge any grievances.

Ken's love of the city is apparent as he adds such "monstrosities" to our streets. It seems, regardless of any type of negativity such as these visual nightmares and intrusive machines, Ken Livingstone and Transport for London will not stop in their desire to tax Londoners in anyway possible and make our lives ever more difficult.

Rather humorously, the Mayor of London web site talks of his "vision" for London that includes:

Strong and diverse economic growth (obviously not for businesses in the c-charge zone).
Social inclusivity (is this a real word??) to allow all Londoners to share in London's future success (when will the average Londoner benefit from such high transport costs and increased council taxes?).
Fundamental improvements in environmental management and use of resources (not in the centre of London!)

There will surely come a time when we realise that Ken is really in it for Ken.
