Mayor's u-turn on bendy buses

After a series of high profile problems (some even bursting into flames), Ken Livingstone has indicated that all bendy buses could be withdrawn from use. The £200,000 buses have been blamed for causing road blocks, allowing fare dodging and simply not providing enough seating space.

Though they have been in use for a number of years, Mr Livingstone said "bendy buses are still on trial. We have only had them for three years so the jury is still out and they may be withdrawn."

This is political speak for "they simply haven't worked". Ken has always supported the buses over the past three years, despite many fears over their suitability and cost effectiveness.

And bring the Routemaster back, as well, Ken! I'll come to London, if you do.
