Mayor plans to raise fares again (no, this is not a joke)
Ken Livingstone is set to raise Tube and bus fares yet again to a staggering £4 and £2, respectively. The increase affects cash fares that are currently £3 a single journey for tubes and £1.50 for a single bus fare.
The latest increase is related once again to Ken wanting to force travellers to pay for tickets using only Oyster cards. However, the move is likely to further create problems for the city by driving people back into their cars and affecting businesses in the centre. It is also thought that people who usually use buses or tubes may be hard pushed to afford the latest increase.
Come on Londoners, speak up! Surely there is a limit we can tolerate? How much longer are we going to put up with this kind of treatment from a man who cares little for the average person living in London? Time and time again we see him belittle others based on beliefs or status, compound an already shoddy travel infrastructure, release wave after wave of incomprehensible scheme and make continued dodgy decisions, often wasting public money.
I for one am tired of being treated this way. I would like to see some kind of public protest and, if people are interested, would take an active hand in organising such an event.
Lets not sit back and take this.

I agree with you 100%. It is more than high time we Londoners stand up against extortionate fares. I am more than fed up with the Mayor and his constant thieving of our hard earned money.
COME ON LONDONERS, LETS PUT TOGETHER A RALLY. LET US NOT STAND BY AND LET KEN DO AS HE PLEASES.
Public Transport is definitely not worth the fares we are charged now, let alone any further fare increases.
If anyone knows of a rally taking place please let me know. I will be there bright and early!
(I would love to string together a few four letter words for Ken, but I'll keep it clean for the benefit of this blog).

The guy is am absolute loon!
If you look at the price of the average Oyster Card monthly pass, its so high that there are no doubt many people with incomes that prevent them from spending an amount that large in one go, but in turn are unable to afford the high overall costs of buying single tickets.
He must be stopped! Ken Livingstone is a con man, a liar, and no one seems to give a damn

I'm in for anything that protests against these ridiculous fares. £2 to go one stop on the bus, and £4 for one stop on the tube is just not on and it's notable that in France or Madrid you can go the whole length of the city for 75p, taking as many tubes as you like in much greater comfort. It's has reached crisis point now - it's time to protest for sure and all that is needed is for someone to start the ball rolling.
